Anime in 2024 is getting more and more interesting. Closing to the end of 2023, We have to say goodbye to the anime that only run twelve episodes. The upcoming year is full of anticipated anime. It seems like one or two lists won’t cover all the popular ones. Yet, 2024 got another worth watching anime, and it’s about Seiyuu.

Based on a light novel and manga with the same title, Seiyuu Radio No Uraomote is premiering in 2024. Now, I’m all about appreciating seiyuu here. Although, there are not that many anime about voice acting.

So, with the arrival of Seiyuu Radio No Uraomote next year, we will have a brand new and potentially unique story about this profession. Let’s just see what the author, Ko Nigatsu, brings to the table.

What Is Seiyuu Radio No Uraomote About?

The term “seiyuu” isn’t always about the voice acting behind anime characters. In fact, it stems from the profession’s long history, which started from radio shows in Japan. It seems this anime is taking the more traditional radio seiyuu into its story.

When I looked up its description on MAL, I expected a slice of life tag. To my surprise, this is a comedy anime with a dab of girls love. Alright, on top of being a seiyuu anime, there is the unique stuff from Seiyuu Radio No Uraomote.

The story is about two seiyuu, Yuuhi and Yasumi, who coincidentally also attend the same school. Even though they get along pretty well on the job, it’s the complete opposite after the mics go off. In their real persona, they despise each other like water and oil.

They Are Bringing In Big Names In The Anime Industry

The teaser just came out like a day ago. So far, I like the art style of this anime. For the actual seiyuu, they are bringing two seiyuu from BanG Dream! to voice the main characters.

Moe Toyota who voiced Kanon Matsubara will be the voice of Yuuhi. Meanwhile, Miku Itou who voiced Kokoro Tsurumaki will be the voice of Yasumi. Miku Itou is also widely known for her role as Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets.

The production team is also something you can’t overlook. This anime will be directed by Hideki Tachibana, who previously worked on Ghost In The Shell and directed Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Also, the animation will be handled by studio Connect, the same studio that worked on Oresuki, Slow Loop, and Senryu Girl.
