This November, one of the greatest anime of all time has finally met its end. Eren Yaeger’s story has come into its resolution. With the manga ended back in 2021, its ending gained a bit of controversy as some media even pointing out subtexts of a certain no-no ideology.

The fans were not happy back then, they mostly were in rage on how Mikasa takes action on Eren. The manga ending was deemed as sloppy. Even influencers such as Jacksepticeye showed his dismay for the manga ending, but also his delight on the anime’s.

New York Times did an interview recently with the man himself, Hajime Isayama. The author of Attack On Titan revealed that he actually already had an idea of the ending since the beginning.

The author also reflected on Eren’s situation. He said that what happened to his character was actually happening to him also. How Eren is tied to the Founding Titan is somehow similar to him tied to the ending that he wrote.

It would have been nice if I could have changed the ending. Writing manga is supposed to be freeing. But if I was completely free, then I should have been able to change the ending.

Hajime Isayama’s Next Projects

On a lighter note, there are news on the next things for Hajime Isayama after Attack On Titan ended. Although last year he said he won’t be writing another manga, there is always tomorrow for him to write down a new draft.

However, in the past he stated of starting a non manga related project, like opening a spa. Also, recent news revealed that a new titan story is upcoming for 2024

Four years ago, in an interview with MMA athlete, Demetrius Johnson, Isayama said his dream was to open up a spa. Well, whether it will be realized or not, It is still a great idea for a themed leisurely place.

Bathing on an onsen which designed by the mangaka himself would attract fans, no doubt. Furthermore, with how bleak Attack On Titan is, they need one for sure. Just be prepared that the water will probably mix with fans’ tears.

A New Titan Story In 2024

On a more serious note, a new story of Attack On Titan is on the plate for 2024. The story will be in an eighteen pages of illustrations artbook. It is planned to release on April 30th in 2024.

However, there is still no lead on what kind of story Isayama will tell. He contemplated on telling Levi’s past. However, no confirmation has been revealed up to now.
