A shocking but certainly a welcomed surprise, the John Wick franchise is getting its own anime series. The story of a retired hitman who is repeatedly dragged back into action.

John Wick is a highly successful movie franchise worldwide. The main character, John Wick, is played by the most breathtaking actor of all Hollywood, Keanu Reeves.

Recently, the series director, Chad Stahelski, revealed that an anime series featuring John Wick’s story is in development. He confirmed this in an episode of The Discourse podcast.

The previous TV series, The Continental, had gotten some mixed reviews. However, if Chad Stahelski gets his hands directly on the new anime, certainly the end result will be nothing but awesomeness.

Speaking of which, this won’t be his first time on handling an anime. Previously, Stahelski has work on an upcoming anime with the creator of Cowboy Bebop.

One of the core reason why the movie franchise is getting an anime adaptation is Chad Stahelski’s love for anime. However, he is not just here as an anime fan, but also a creative in the industry.

Cowboy Bebop creator, Shinichiro Watanabe is working together with Chad Stahelski and studio MAPPA in the making of the new anime, Lazarus. That sentence alone has three big names in the movie and anime industry.

These three has a great impact in the entertainment industry. MAPPA is the studio behind Attack On Titan which ended not too long ago. Cowboy Bebob is still regarded as one of the greatest anime of all time. And John Wick movies are among the most entertaining action movies ever.

Lazarus Trailer Shows John Wick Anime Will Have Great Action

Chad Stahelski is a famous and well-regarded stunt director. He has more than a decade experience of being a stuntman. So, clearly Stahelski is a veteran in terms of action in movies.

Also, the man was the stunt double for Keanu Reeves in the movie, The Matrix. So, he knows precisely how the actor would move in action scenes.

The anime Lazarus has its action directed by Chad Stahelski. So, if he directs the future John Wick anime, it is safe to assume that the action will be as great as Lazarus, or even better.
